Scratching in the attic or droppings in the pantry both point to the same fix: find the gap, seal it, then clear the population. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed wiring and insulation damage are real risks we flag during every inspection.
Rodent control here means construction-grade exclusion: hardware cloth, sealant, and door sweeps, applied by trained techs.
We route technicians fast when a Los Luceros, NM customer reports fresh droppings, gnawing, or attic noise — those signs mean the population is active now.
The inspection determines a fixed price for trapping and exclusion work before anything is installed.
We carry snap traps, one-way exclusion doors, thermal cameras for locating nest zones, and sanitation supplies for post-removal cleanup. We also photograph every sealed entry point before and after, giving you documentation of the exclusion work performed.
Ground-level burrow treatment and foundation-gap sealing for the larger rats typically found near woodpiles, sheds, and crawl spaces.
Roof rats travel via power lines and tree branches into attics — we seal roofline gaps, vents, and eaves specifically.
Mice need only a quarter-inch opening — we inspect utility penetrations, door sweeps, and foundation cracks for entry points.
After removal, we clean contaminated insulation and sanitize affected areas per industry biohazard handling standards.
Exclusion work means permanent barriers — not just trap removal — so rodents can't simply come back through the same gap.
We service multi-unit properties on a recurring schedule with logged station checks for management records.
Tell dispatch where you're hearing activity — attic, walls, or kitchen — and whether you've seen droppings or gnaw marks.
A technician arrives with trapping and sealing materials already loaded, ready to inspect and quote in the same visit.
The inspection identifies both the rodent species and every access point, from foundation cracks to roofline gaps.
Traps are set, entry points sealed, and a follow-up check scheduled to confirm the population is fully cleared.
We'd tried store-bought traps for months. The technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger board in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. They sealed three roofline gaps and the noise stopped within a few days.
Property manager here — they service all six of our buildings on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated that they explained the difference between mice and roof rats before quoting. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and the electrician confirmed no further risk.
We dispatch Los Luceros, NM technicians throughout Los Luceros and neighboring areas, with particular attention to older homes and properties near wooded lots where rodent pressure tends to run higher. Properties in Los Luceros near open fields or construction sites tend to see rodent pressure spike seasonally, so we plan technician routes with that pattern in mind.
Gnaw marks, dropping size, and even the sound of movement in walls all help distinguish rats from mice — the technician will confirm on inspection.
Trapping handles what's inside now; sealing is what keeps new rodents from replacing them.
Dry sweeping droppings can release airborne particles; it's safer to let the crew handle cleanup with the right protective equipment.
A typical job is a single day of work plus a short follow-up window to verify the population is gone.
We prioritize mechanical trapping and exclusion over rodenticide when possible, especially around homes with pets or children.
Accessible food sources, standing water, cluttered storage, and unsealed foundation gaps are the most common draws. We often recommend homeowners do a seasonal walk-around of the foundation, since new gaps can open up after freeze-thaw cycles.
